Llámame By Your Name

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetI hope all of most of you have seen “Call Me By Your Name”by now. i’m not gonna go into details, but i firmly believe that this film does something to whoever watches it. As most things do, the movie got me thinking sabot time and how we can’t ever get it back. After seeing the movie twice in a week just to make sure that this movie had a real effect on me and that to dint just get me emotional because I saw it alone on Valentine’s Day (ALONE), I noticed that the film was like a wake up call to me. I waste so much time thinking of what I want to do but then don’t, on my phone, alone rewatching “Friends”for the eleventh hundred time (the list goes on) and I can’t get any of that time back, but I can make sure I don’t waste any more of it.On that same week, I discovered a Spanish song I’m currently obsessed with, called “La Llamada”. The song talks about getting the ultimate wake up call and going for whatever it is you feel like doing. (Even if you don’t speak Spanish, look up the lyrics and listen to it, I promise you won’t regret it!) This all kind of clicked when I was yet again wasting my time doing nothing: I’m 20 and I have my whole life ahead of me, and I just don’t plan on wasting any more time because of fear.

I’m through with letting my fears hold me back. I’m here to do more of what makes me happy, and getting dressed up and standing in front of a camera is something I really like. I really do believe clothes our easiest way to be creative, which is why I took the chance to go back to my blue roots and my beloved denim jacket after my weather app said there were no gray clouds around. After class I called Lien and asked her if she’d be kind enough to come shoot with me. The results are amazing and I was so happy and entertained by doing what I loved. So there’s my wake up call I guess. I hope I can keep up with this positivity streak now that seasonal depression has left the building. I think that’s what your youth is for: learning, feeling, being.

Blue is definitely one of my favorite colors, and you already know how much I love my denim jacket, so I found a way to bring them all in a casual outfit I just wore to class, but mad me feel confident and happy in my own skin, long after I took my clothes off and went to bed later that night.

I hope you’ve had your wake up call already and that you’re making the most out of your time on Earth every single day. And if not, watch the movie or play the song, and I guarantee you, you’ll get the call you were waiting for.
